New bar and social space Market Street Social is due to open Friday 16 April just off Friargate.
AdvertisementOwned by the same people as Plau bar, there will be a month of weekend garden parties.
These are the opening times: Friday 4-11pm, Saturday & Sunday 12-11pm.
Rebecca Rowlands from Plau bar said: “Our vision for Market Street Social in the long term is to become an inventive culture space for indie retailers, that will share the walled courtyard with Plau.
“From the team behind The Continental Beer Festival and The Plungington Gin Festival we have missed creating events and wanted to create something like this but with an intimate all year round festival vibe.
“There will be outdoor covered areas and heating along with Plau bbq menu and pop up bar. We will Covid safe environment where you will order via an app and receive table service. We have received a huge amount of interest and we highly recommend booking to avoid disappointment.”
You are able to book a table here but tables are limited to a maximum of six people.

PM Boris Johnson confirmed on Monday (5 April) that some Covid restrictions will be eased from Monday 12 April which includes beer gardens opening.
Customers of Market Street Social have to remain at their table and pay via the ‘Round’ app or by card but they are not accepting cash.
