A Preston retailer has used the quiet lockdown period to customise a mobility scooter with crystals and flashing lights.

Staff at ScootaMart in Owen Street have spent over 500 hours during the coronavirus pandemic creating the one-of-a-kind ‘Pride Ranger’.

Ian Jaeger of ScootaMart said: “As an essential retailer of mobility products we have remained open over the past year to service and supply our customers.

“However, as it has been quiet on the high street, rather than twiddle our thumbs our staff have put in the time and made a one of a kind Pride Ranger mobility scooter to bring a smile to people’s faces in these challenging times.

“We have added over 50,000 crystals one by one, taking over 500 hours of manual labour, retro fitted and added bling to a vintage Porsche rally seat then wired in a light kit that flashes to the music beat.

“Lastly we made a trailer with matching wheels to carry the designer shopping bags.”

What do you think of the Pride Ranger? Did it bring a smile to your face? Let us know in the comments.
