A young man has died following a collision in Preston.
At around 10:50pm last night (Thursday 4 February) there was a major crash on New Hall Lane, opposite the Hesketh Arms pub in Preston.
The grey BMW 1 Series involved overturned and collided with the entrance to the cemetery.
Lancashire Police have now confirmed that, sadly, the front seat passenger, an 18-year-old man from Preston, died at the scene.
The 18-year-old has been named by the Preston Muslim Burial Society as Harron Ahmed of Cave Street, Fishwick.
The driver, a 17-year-old Preston boy, has been taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition having suffered serious neck and arm injuries.

The rear-seat passengers, aged 18 and 19 from Preston, also suffered serious injuries and are in a stable condition in hospital.
Officers are asking any witnesses to come forward.
Senior Investigating Officer Sgt Steve Hardman said: “Firstly my thoughts and sympathies are with the family of the man who died, at this incredibly distressing time.
“We are trying to ascertain exactly how this incident occurred and I am asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the vehicle involved prior to it happening to make contact with the police.

“I am particularly interested in speaking to anyone has any dashcam footage or CCTV of the incident so please get in touch.
“I am aware that some photographs and videos of the aftermath of this incident have been posted on social media which is particularly distressing to the families of those involved. Please can I ask if you have uploaded any footage or shared anything on social media that it be deleted.”
