So far 2021 is not at all what anyone hoped it would be. This lockdown has proved to be much more challenging than the first. As a teacher, you see first-hand how it has affected young people.
I wanted to do something to help the young people, their parents, and teachers – not just those at Carr Hill. This is why I have introduced my Instagram Page – Miss C, Mental Health Comes First.
This page is for everyone, not just students. A fellow teacher wrote ‘I know this is for the students, but I needed this too’. I share resources, top tips, and daily motivation for anyone who may need it.
I recently created a scheduling resource to help students organise their day. Learning from home is difficult and finding the motivation is not easy. This guide will help students to plan their tasks for the day and feel a sense of accomplishment once a task is completed.
With the half term break approaching, I worry that some students will feel lost. For some students, schoolwork is what provides them with structure for their days.
The most recent resource titled ’40 things to do during half term’ gives the students plenty of ideas of fun things they could do during the half term break ranging from craft activities, to getting outdoors and enjoying the fresh air.
There is something for everyone. It is my hope that people can come back to the list whenever they feel a little lost or short of something to do.
Mental Health is so important, as I am sure you all know.
My aim is simple, to help as many people as possible and promote positive mental health. Having recently completed a mental Health champions course and having enrolled onto a Level 3 diploma on First Aid for mental Health, my knowledge on the topic is constantly expanding.
Nobody should suffer alone; it is my hope that this page will help those who are struggling. If you are a student, parent or teacher, or someone struggling with their mental Health, this page is there to support you. Use the resources, share them far and wide, and together we can give young people the help they deserve providing them with strategies to combat mental Health.
