This year, it’s more important than ever to spread some Christmas cheer to lift our collective spirits.
Charlotte Reynolds and her family have gone one step further than most, however, putting up a delightful display for their community to enjoy.
The amazing lights can be seen at 69 Cadley Causeway.

They love Christmas, and had previously decorated their house for Halloween, which received a great reaction from the community. People even ran off screaming it was that spooky.
It didn’t occur to the family to raise money for charity until a passer-by asked the family were they raising funds with the lights.
After giving it some thought, they chose to raise money for local food banks.

Charlotte said: “With so many people struggling due to the pandemic, we thought it was important we help those in need in our local community.
“We’re very lucky to have not been impacted too much as we usually work from home anyway, but we know a lot of people are not as fortunate.
“We have decided that, depending on how much we raise, we will either do a big shop with a list of needed items from food banks in the new year, or we will split the money and spread it across as many food banks as we can, if it’s a large amount.”

There is a sign outside the house to let the community know the total raised so far, encouraging people to donate what they can, whilst stroking the Polar Bear.
They have received some lovely handwritten notes with donations and Charlotte’s partner Sami and his children Mischa and Izzy now think they are famous in Fulwood due to the lights, which they’ve been calling ‘Cadley Illuminations.’
People can donate by putting spare change, notes or envelopes through the letterbox, or you can donate online.

Some children have donated their pocket money (as little as 43p) and the total is currently at £165.83.
The family are hoping the total will increase until the new year, when the lights will be turned off.
They are so glad to be able to spread some Christmas cheer during what has been a very difficult year.
