Normal life by next winter?

One of the team behind the Covid-19 vaccine, developed by BioNTech and Pfizer, said he believes ‘normal life’ would return by winter 2021.

Speaking on the Andrew Marr Shaw on BBC One during Sunday morning, Professor Ugur Sahin said he was confident the vaccine would transmission between people would be cut dramatically by the vaccine.

The government has ordered 10million doses of the BioNTech vaccine to be delivered before the end of the year.

Prof Sahin said all immunisation programmes needed to be completed before Autumn 2021 to ensure a third wave of Covid-19 does not take place in the colder months of the year.

43,000 people took part in the tests for the Covid-19 vaccine and studies show it could prevent more than 90 per cent of people from contracting Covid-19.
