A new NHS Covid-19 test centre has been opened in Leyland this week.
The site, located at the South Ribble Borough Council’s headquarters at the Civic Centre, opened on Sunday (4 October).

Only people displaying symptoms of Covid-19 are allowed to be tested, and all appointments must be booked in advance.
Bookings can be made via the NHS website or by calling 119.

It is believed the centre could be open between three and six months.
The station comes following residents expressing concerns over difficulties accessing tests when needed.
Just last month, community testing facilities in Preston were closed to people outside of the city council area due to high demand.

The Lancashire regional test centre has now also moved to South Ribble. It is currently at the Capitol Centre in Walton-le-Dale; previously it was at Preston’s College.

Pre-booked appointments are also needed for this drive-through centre.
