New aerial pictures show the work progressing on the latest new road for Preston.
AdvertisementThe Preston Western Distributor will link the M55, from a new motorway junction, down to the A583 near Preston Docks.
As the government announced a multi-million funding package to dual the A66 in the North East, Lancashire County Council’s executive director Stephen Young released the pictures.
It shows the work underway on the new road which is due to be complete 2023 and will cost just over £200m.

Work began on the Western Distributor in October last year and it is funded by the City Deal, which covers Preston and South Ribble, and funds major infrastructure projects and new housing.

The latest stage of the Western Distributor sees a section of Bartle Lane closing from 7am on Tuesday (May 26) for two years as a bridge is built across the new road.
