The Met Office has issued two yellow weather warnings for Preston.
The first warning, which runs from 3pm today (Monday 10 February) until midnight on Tuesday 11 February, is for heavy snow showers and icy surfaces.
The Met Office says showers will turn increasingly to snow later on Monday. While snow accumulations over low ground are likely to be temporary, there could be 10-15 cm on the highest routes. Strong winds will be an additional hazard with gusts of 50-60 mph.
The eastern side of Preston and South Ribble falls within the area expected to be affected, with the weather conditions likely to lead to travel disruption, and the potential for injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
A second warning for further snow showers and icy surfaces covering more of Preston and South Ribble has been issued for Wednesday 12 February from midnight until 12pm.
The warnings come in the wake of Storm Ciara, which caused chaos across Preston and South Ribble.
