A Preston pub is marking its first birthday with a week-long celebration of music, food and drink.

Vinyl Tap in Adelphi Street opened on 8 September 2018. Prior to its opening, the pub was the Hearts of Oak and before that the Variety.

Over the past year Vinyl Tap has become well-known for its record store theme, live music and selection of burgers. It has also been named CAMRA’s Most Improved Pub 2019.

The full line-up of birthday events is as follows. All events are free.

Tuesday 3 September

Weekly Open Mic, hosted by landlord, Sean Keefe, with free Budweiser for every performer. Starts at 9pm.

Wednesday 4 September

Live music from Hardwicke Circus, who are said to sound like a mix of the Stones, Tom Petty and the E Street Band. The band has spent most of the summer on tour supporting the likes of Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Madness.

Landlord Sean said: “These are hands down one of the best young bands you’re likely to see. See them at the Tap while you can, because they’re gonna be BIG!” Show starts at 9pm.
