The first Extinction Rebellion Preston action is due to take place in the city.
An international socio-political movement, Extinction Rebellion (XR) uses civil disobedience and nonviolent resistance to protest against climate breakdown, biodiversity loss, and the risk of social and ecological collapse.
The Preston action will take place on Saturday 20 July from 11am.
A statement on the Facebook event said: “This event is about reaching the people of Preston, growing and establishing the new Preston XR group and developing stronger coordination within XR in the North West of England. It’s a building process.”
