All the summer events in Preston city centre have been announced.
AdvertisementThere’s something free to see or do on the Flag Market from the first weekend of June all the way to the end of August.
Here’s all the dates for your diary over the summer with a huge variety of events taking place.
Saturday 1 June – Jazz in the City
Part of a wider Preston Jaz and Improvisation Festival, this runs from 12noon to 4pm
Saturday 8 June – Vintage Vehicles
Classic cars and more roll onto the Flag Market from 10am to 4pm
Saturday 15 June – Making A Mark
Last year they made art from food donated for foodbanks, this year it looks at plastics. They will be making a giant art installation out of single-use plastics which you can bring along from 12noon to 4pm.
Saturday 29 June – Armed Forces Day
One of the biggest events of the year, parades, soldiers and more in a celebration of the city’s military links, from 10.30am to 4.30pm.

Saturday 6 July – Preston City Mela
Celebrating South Asian arts, culture, tradition and heritage

Saturday 13 July – Vikings
Once again the Nordic invasion returns to the Flag Market
Saturday 20 July – Preston Bus Station and Ribble Bus’ anniversary
Expect lots of buses parked up on the Flag Market

A community event celebrating all different areas of the community.
Saturday 3 August – PYT Aliens
Saturday 10 August – Motion Houses Captive and Ramshackilicious: The Band At The End of The World
Saturday 17 August – Preston City Wrestling
Saturday 24 August – Youth Music from Preston Gateway
Saturday 31 August – Feast for Peace
