A new independent art and coffee shop is open in Ribbleton Lane.
Gallery D52 is run by artist Suzi Topp, who recently graduated from UCLan with a degree in Fine Art.
The shop features contemporary fine art from local artists in original and print form. Nine artists are currently exhibiting, and more wall and floor space is available to rent.
Regular artist groups, workshops and community events will all be part of the shop’s offering.

Gallery D52’s Ellis Jinks said: “The aim is to create a welcoming place for everyone to come together, chat and relax. We’re trying to bring a better art scene to Preston, breaking down the stigma – art is for everyone!”
A weekly group gives artists a chance to come together, discuss ideas and eat cake, while January workshops in knitting and stencil art are open to people of all levels of experience and skill.
A well-attended Rhythm Jam session in late December allowed community members to try out a host of percussion instruments for a suggested donation of £5 or leftover Christmas chocolates and crackers.
The coffee shop serves freshly prepared sandwiches and paninis, homemade cakes, fresh Italian coffee and a selection of teas. Food is available to eat in or takeaway, and orders can be phoned through for collection.
