Everybody look at the moon!
Preston InstaMeet is returning to the Harris for our fourth event, back to where it all started – but there’s a BIG difference.
Hanging from the ceiling will be the Museum of the Moon’s installation.
The 23ft high three dimensional moon is going to get a first look through the lens of the city’s Instagram community.
InstaMeet’s give you access to places you normally wouldn’t get to go and the Harris is giving us a first look – all you need is your smartphone and then upload the pics to #igerspreston.
Executive member for culture and leisure councillor Peter Kelly said: “We had a fantastic response to our first Harris InstaMeet and received many requests to host another.
“The Museum of the Moon is the perfect opportunity for a second InstaMeet that offers something completely different—to photograph a giant moon inside the stunning interior of the Harris’ Grade 1 listed building.”
The fourth InstaMeet takes place on Friday 1 February from 5.30pm and will last around an hour.
It’s free to attend but you’ll need to sign up via Eventbrite.
We expect high demand for this event, so if you register and then find you can’t go then please ensure you return your place so we can utilise the waitlist.

The Museum of the Moon goes on display to the public from Saturday 2 February to 24 February 2019.
The city has a vibrant photographic and Instagram community, the InstaMeet’s began at the Harris in May last year, with access to the roof, since then we’ve been inside the Town Hall and into the Union Lofts development in Guildhall Street.
Blog Preston organises the InstaMeet’s in conjunction with organisations and individuals across the city.
