A new national dining chain could be bringing Indian street food to Deepdale.
A planning application has been submitted to turn 234-236 Deepdale Road into the UK’s northernmost branch of chaiiwala.
The chain, which started as a tea stall in Delhi in the 1920s, first came to the UK in 2015.
chaiiwala specialise in Karak Chaii, an Indian-style creamy tea infused with spices – and they still serve the same secret family recipe that was used 90 years ago.

The food menu includes all-day breakfast, snacks such as Bombay sandwiches, masala chips, sweet paratha and Pav Bhaji, plus a range of desserts.
The two Deepdale Road properties that would become chaiiwala were previously occupied by a pharmacy.

According to the planning application, which can be viewed on the Preston City Council website, the new diner would create five full-time and eight part-time jobs.
