The Market Tavern is changing hands once again with a new face due to go behind the bar.
AdvertisementTaken on in January by the Meat and Drink company it is now being taken on by the team behind Wings and Beer in Cannon Street.
Simon and team have vowed to give the pub, which faces the new Market, a major makeover.
In a tweet they said the pub will be renamed as The Market Tap and ‘we are going to turn this pub into a great craft and cask ale house’.
They are also planning cocktails as well as an extensive food menu.

It’s expected to be take around two months for the refurbishment to take place and Simon said they will release further plans in due course.
A spokesman for Meat and Drink, which is the company also behind the soon to open Plau bar in Friargate, said: “Meat & Drink would like to wish Wings & Beer Co. the very best with the new venture at the Market Tavern.
“As a company, we never managed to get to a point where we made a long-term deal that benefited all parties involved. Wings & Co. look set to make a great success of the Market Tavern, with a fantastic concept in a wonderful venue.”
