Police have remained at a Preston primary school throughout Tuesday following the death of a man.
The delivery driver died after he became trapped between his refrigerated van and a gatepost.
Preston Police were called to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Primary School in Farringdon Lane shortly before 7am on Tuesday (18 September).
The driver died from his injuries following the collision close to the school gates.
He is a 56-year-old man from Preston and was delivering goods to the school.
The school has been closed throughout Tuesday.
Police said the incident is now being investigated by the Health and Safety Executive.

A spokesman for the police said: “Our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this incredibly sad and difficult time.”
A spokeswoman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Two fire engines from Preston attended a road traffic collision involving a van on Farringdon Lane in Preston. Firefighters released one casualty who was trapped between the vehicle and a gate post.
“The man tragically died as a result of his injuries. Our thoughts are with his family at this terribly sad time.”
A spokesperson for Blessed Sacrament Catholic Primary School said: “Following the incident today we have been advised to keep school closed. Therefore we will not now be open Wednesday 19 September.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with all involved in this sad incident today.”
