Little Vegan threw open its doors in October 2017 when owner Carley Louise Stewart operated the business from her Waterloo Road home.

With the growth of Little Vegan, Carley, who was a childminder at the time, decided to leave her job and dedicate herself to the business.

A space in York Yard off Derby Street then opened up, becoming the start of Little Vegan’s online store.

Owner, Carley Stewart, said: “Little Vegan continued to grow and grow and when the New Year came in, everybody jumped onto Veganuary. I helped and educated a lot of people to make the transition to a plant-based diet and alternately a vegan lifestyle.

“From then I decided to leave my current job and dedicate my time fully to Little Vegan and her journey, wherever it took me. Then a space in Preston city centre became available which I heard from Marguerita, who runs the Mandala Yoga studio.

“With similar outlooks on health and well being she helped and guided me to go for it.”

Little Vegan has also been chosen by UCLan to provide them with the famous Little Vegan Classic Burger and Sausage Patties in the Student’s Union bar.

Carley continued: “Our passion is to help the planet, the animals and the health of others by creating amazing vegan food to sell alongside store goods. We are also keen to get on board local producers and suppliers of vegan products so we can collaborate and work together.

“Our current plans for Little Vegan is to expand into a take away service as the range is always in demand, as well as teaching others plant-based recipes and cooking skills.”
