A favourite pre-match watering hole for Preston North End fans is to be demolished.

The Sumners in Watling Street Road, Fulwood, served its last drink during the summer and will now face the wrecking ball.

PWA Planning have tabled a demolition notice for the pub.

In late July the pub’s car park saw trees cleared and the planning application for demolition work to begin on site has gone in.

No further proposals have gone in for the pub, which is understood to still be owned by pub company Greene King.

The pub had been on the market for some time but it not known who has bought it.
