After a day of showers and then some brief evening sunshine here’s how an unsettled week for Preston weather wise shapes up.

Storm Debby only briefly skirted the city on Monday (13 August) with some heavy downpours during the morning, but will the rain return later in the week?

Here’s the latest Met Office forecast for the city taking you day-by-day through the week and into the weekend as the school holidays continue.

Monday (13 August)

Evening – A still and calm evening, temperatures of 16 degrees and no rain.

Tuesday (14 August)

Morning – Overcast start to the day, but a slim chance of rain throughout the morning

Lunchtime and afternoon – On your lunch break it will still be overcast, the wind picks up slightly and it is 19 degrees.

Evening – A muggy evening, still overcast, and temperatures at 17 degrees as we head into the evening

Wednesday (15 August)

Morning – Another cloudy start and it remains warm, at 17 degrees.

Lunchtime and afternoon – At 1pm it’s up to 21 degrees and still cloudy. The rain is due to arrive from 2pm onwards and last throughout the afternoon.

Evening – A damp and warm evening in store. Only light rain is due though.

Thursday (16 August)

Morning – There’s still a slight shower around at 6am but on the sun starts to break through from 8am and its feeling fresher than recent days.

Lunchtime and afternoon – A sunny lunchtime awaits and it is 17 degrees. Sunshine throughout the afternoon.

Evening – Early evening is pleasant, with sunny intervals and 16 degrees.

Friday (17 August)

Morning – A cloudy start and it’s around 14 degrees at 8am.

Lunchtime and afternoon – A bit of a breeze is starting to get up, and at 6pm we say our first rays of sunshine

Evening – Sunset at 8.37pm and the hours proceeding are set to be sunny

Saturday (18 August)

Morning – Dawns damp, showers until 7am. And then cloudy and 17 degrees.

Lunchtime and afternoon – A cloudy lunchtime before the sun arrives at 2pm and stays throughout the afternoon with temperatures reaching 19 degrees.

Evening – There’s some sunshine until around 8pm and then a clear evening ahead with a slim chance of rain.

Sunday (19 August)

Morning – Rainy start, through until lunchtime.

Lunchtime and afternoon – Brightens up considerably as the showers die away, with temperatures of 19 degrees.

Evening – A clear and fine evening, with temperatures of 17 degrees.
