The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow and ice later this week.
The warning is in place from Friday (December 8) morning at 00.05am until Saturday (December 9) at 6pm.
It is predicted that between 2-5cm of snow will fall across the areas affected by the warning, which includes Lancashire. That could increase to 10-20cm on high ground.
Roads will also become icy as a result of the weather.

A statement from the Met Office said: “During winter weather which brings snow showers, it is not uncommon for snow amounts to vary considerably across short distances.
“On Friday and Saturday, the snow showers could lead to snow accumulations which vary markedly across the warning area.”
The Met Office has also warned that the weather could affect roads and public transport.
