Organisers of one of Preston’s biggest firework displays are pleading with drivers to leave their cars at home.
Preston Grasshoppers display at their Lightfoot Lane ground is returning after it was cancelled last year due to work on the rugby club’s new pitch.
A statement from the club said: “We must stress that parking on site is extremely limited and the roads around the club are very congested because of ongoing building developments, so we strongly advise everyone to use public transport or park away from the club and walk.”
Temporary traffic lights are still in place at the junction of Lightfoot Lane and Eastway as work on a new access road for a new housing development continues – causing long delays each evening.
The fireworks, on Friday (3 November), is expected to draw hundreds of people from across the city.
Gates open at 6pm and the bonfire is lit at 7pm.
From 8pm the club’s biggest aerial fireworks display ever will be put on by Phenomenal fireworks.

The club says if the weather takes a turn for the worse and they have to cancel the event it’ll be delayed until Sunday (5 November).
Tickets can be bought in advance via Skiddle, with an individual advance ticket starting at £5.50.
A limited number of tickets will be on sale on the night but Grasshoppers are warning they have reached capacity in previous years and had to turn people away.
