The new owner of the restaurant that was the King Karai has revealed his ambitious plans.
The restaurant will be known as Maharani Restaurant and will reopen next Friday (September 15) following a refurbishment.
Kishore Augustine, the new co-owner along with his cousin, said that the restaurant will serve South Indian food as well as North Indian, Chinese and Thai.
Both new owners are chefs with Kishore, who worked at the Marriott in Preston for six years, specialising in Chinese and Thai food while his cousin specialises in Indian food.
More: King Karai latest restaurant to announce closure
The King Karai announced they would close at the end of August back in July after owner Babu Chauhan decided to sell his family business and focus on his retirement.
Until now, it had been a mystery what would happen to the Watery Lane restaurant, although Babu had indicated the new owners intended to keep it open as a restaurant.
We’ll be down next weekend to give you our first impressions.
