A celebration of the city’s Caribbean culture has taken place for the 41st time.
Preston Carnival returned this year after not being able to run in 2016 due to funding problems.
A scaled-back parade didn’t go into the city centre but wound its way through the streets of Deepdale as people lined the roads to dance to the rhythms.
The sun also made an appearance. Sunday had dawned wet and blustery but the weather began to match the sunshine appearance of many of the costumes.
Former Miss Preston and Miss England 2016 Elizabeth Grant lead the Carnival parade through her hometown.
The carnival procession finished on Moor Park where an afternoon of music and food awaited.
