Preston’s mini-heatwave looks set to come to an abrupt halt.

The Met Office has updated its forecast for the Bank Holiday weekend and Saturday looks set to be ruined.

While Preston may be baking in temperatures of 27 degrees during Friday (26 May) there’s a turn in the weather about to come – and with it the risk of some localised flooding.

Forecaters say heavy and thundery showers are expected during Saturday (27 May) afternoon and into the early evening.

The yellow weather warning, the lowest level of warning, says some places could see 20-30mm in an hour or less.

Bank Holiday Sunday looks set to be overcast with temperatures of 15 degrees and there is also rain forecast for the Bank Holiday Monday.
