Preston looks set to bask in bright sunshine as we head into the late May Bank Holiday weekend – and there’s good news for the weekend itself.

Temperatures have already begun to rise with Monday (22 May) seeing the mercury hit 22 degrees and bright sunshine continuing well into the evening.

The Met Office has Preston staying clear of rain for the rest of the week leading up to the Bank Holiday weekend.

On Thursday (25 May) the temperatures really start to ramp up from lunchtime onwards, with highs of 23 degrees predicted from 4pm onwards.

Friday (26 May) sees temperatures climb even higher, adding an extra degree to reach 26 degrees by 4pm and bright sunshine forecast all day.

Sunday cools slightly, with temperatures of 17 degrees and Preston will see a fair bit of sunshine throughout the day – with patches of overcast throughout the late afternoon and evening.

The Bank Holiday Monday itself is set to be similar to the Sunday in terms of temperatures – and it’ll be dry and bright.
