Did your favourite pub feature?
As the days get longer and the evenings warmer the temptation to sup a pint in a beer garden becomes greater.
During the winter months they sit forlorn, with maybe the odd smoker braving the wind and rain for a drag.
But as the sun shines down they become our playgrounds for an afternoon spent lazing around, catching up and having a few drinks.
Here’s Blog Preston’s readers favourite places to get a pint al-fresco.
The Continental, South Meadow Lane
The Conti’s beer garden during the ale festival, or a sunny summers day normally!
This came up more often than any other pub. Close to the banks of the Ribble and a stones throw from Avenham and Miller Park it is often standing room only outside in the summer. Go early, get seats.
The Black Bull, Penwortham
The Black Bull in Penwortham
On Pope Lane this pub has a good choice of real ales on and dates back to the early 1800s.
The Hunters, Walton-le-Dale
The Hunters had a major refurb last year
It reopened last year after a refurb and has a growing reputation for decent food and beer. There’s a bouncy castle outside for the kids, so it’s not for those looking for peace and quiet.
The Moorbrook, North Road

Many don’t realise it has a beer garden. You can gaze at the closed down B&Q and enjoy a pint from a pub that keeps its ales better than many in the city.
The Guild, Fylde Road

An extensive beer garden, with 53 Degrees reflecting like a spaceship nearby. There has been many a lecture missed by UCLan students while enjoying a drink, or a few, here.
