A murder inquiry is underway following the death of a man in his 60s in Preston.
Preston Police have arrested a 19-year-old man from Bolton on suspicion of murder.
The victim was found unconscious and partially clothed in Hammond Street near to the Plungington Community Centre on New Year’s Day.
He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital but later died. He had suffered a head injury.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to piece together what happened before the man was found at 8.30am on Sunday.

DI Pete Danby from Preston Police said: “We are still appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. If you know anything please get in touch.
“I would like to continue to reassure local residents that we have a team of officers investigating this and we have stepped up our presence in the area.”

A post mortem examination to establish the cause of the man’s death is still to take place and he is yet to be named.
