Road closures for VE Day street parties across Preston and South Ribble

With the 80th anniversary of VE Day approaching roads across Preston will be closed due to street party celebrations.

Here are the road closures that will be taking place in and around Preston:

  • Geoffrey Street
  • Sandwick Close, Fulwood – Thursday 8 May
  • Weeton Place, Ashton-on-Ribble – Thursday 8 May
  • Grenville Road, Walton-le-Dale
  • Woodville Road, Penwortham

The road closures in Geoffrey Street is for a VE Day party organised by Wilbraham Club. It will be closed during Bank Holiday Monday (5 May).

Outside the Wilbraham Club, the road will be closed from 9:30am until 7pm., with the event starting at noon, promising entertainment for all ages.

The Wilbraham Club joins forces with the Spectrum Association for a day bursting with games, performances, and community cheer.

There will be music, food, outdoor games, quiz, bingo, inflatables, face painting, competitions and an outdoor bar available at the event.

The event will be planned by manager Rachael and fully supported by the club owners Mark and Donna.
