Kart applications have opened for this year’s Longridge Soap Box Derby which will take place on 14 September.
The increasingly popular event sees Berry Lane, in the centre of Longridge, turned into a downhill speedway for keen karting competitors. And this year’s event will raise money for St Catherine’s Hospice.

In a statement on the Longridge Soap Box Derby website, organisers said: “We are absolutely thrilled that St Catherineās Hospice will be the owners and beneficiaries of the Longridge Soap Box Derby 2025 and that the funds raised will go towards helping this much-loved, local charity provide personalised care for patients, and their families, in the local area.
“The Love Longridge team will be supporting St Catherineās Hospice by acting as delivery partners for this event. Love Longridge, now in their fourth year of organising this incredible, colourful event, have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to ensure that the Longridge Soap Box Derby is another full day of fun-packed activities.
“After 2022, 2023 and 2024’s phenomenally successful events, we expect to attract up to 7,500 people from Longridge and surrounding areas.”
