A lane is closed on the M6 northbound due to a car fire on the approach to Junction 31A.
Emergency services have been sent to the stretch between Samlesbury and Fulwood.
Three lanes remain open past the scene after the car fire which took place around 2pm on Wednesday (23 April).

The car, a Mini, is well alight on the hard shoulder of the M6 northbound beyond Junction 31. There were no injuries as a result of the fire.
Highways England North West is reporting normal traffic conditions are expected from around 3.30pm.
There are currently delays back to Junction 30 with the M61 spur and on the M6 southbound there are delays from Junction 31 back to Junction 32.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “At 13.56 a fire engine from Preston attended a vehicle fire on the M6. Fire fighters wore breathing apparatus and used one hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. No casualties were involved. The crew was engaged for 10 minutes.”
