He said: “I am thrilled to be part of this exciting project and to help bring The Arc Cinema’s premium experience to Preston. As a Lancashire local, it’s particularly meaningful to see this investment in our community and to play a part in creating new job opportunities for the city.”

He said he wants to partner with local organisations and for the cinema to become a ‘vibrant part of Preston’s cultural fabric’.

The cinema is to have recliner seating throughout, a 4k laser projection as standard and its hypersense premium large format screens with surround sound.

The Arc Cinema group already operate cinemas in Great Yarmouth, Peterhead, Beeston, Daventry, Hucknall and Rotherham.

The cinema is within the Animate complex which is due to include a bowling alley, restaurants and food hall and is costing £45m to build. All units, including the Arc Cinema, are due to open during Spring 2025.
