A man was detained outside a school in South Ribble after reports were made to police.
Police were called to Moss Side Primary School, on Paradise Lane in Leyland, just before 9am after receiving reports a man was seen close to the school wearing a balaclava.
Officers from Lancashire Constabulary attended and detained the man – although he was not placed under arrest.

The school was described by parents as ‘on lockdown’ and there was a suggestion the man had been carrying a knife. Police confirmed no weapon has been recovered at this time.
A spokesperson for police said: “We were called to Paradise Lane, Leyland, at 8.50am today (15th November) following a report a man had been seen close to a school wearing a balaclava and acting suspiciously.
“Our officers quickly attended and detained a man in his 40s.
“This is being treated as an isolated incident and there is no perceived wider threat to the public.”
