Dobbies in Preston is embracing the autumn season with a lineup of seasonal events throughout October.
From gardening workshops to Halloween celebrations, the free and paid activities cater to all ages and interests.
The autumn fun kicks off with Grow How sessions, taking place every Wednesday at 10.30am and 3.30pm. The workshops will teach participants how to decorate their doorsteps for autumn and Halloween, featuring tips on pots, plants, and autumn wreaths using homegrown vegetables.
Dobbies is also offering a Planting and Afternoon Tea: Autumn Edition on Tuesday 8 and Saturday 12 October, where attendees can create their own pumpkin succulent planter. Priced at £45 per person, the workshop includes tea and sweet treats alongside a fun, seasonal craft.
For young gardeners, Dobbies is hosting the Little Seedlings Holiday Club from Monday 21 to Friday 25 October. These sessions will bring fairytales to life, blending storytelling with gardening magic. Children will explore classic tales like Cinderella and Snow White, while engaging in fun crafts such as toadstool-making and creating their own fairy gardens.
Halloween gets an extra special touch with Dobbies’ Little Scare-lings Howl-o-ween Party, suitable for kids aged 3 to 10. This event includes spooky snacks like scary scones and coffin sandwiches, a gourd decorating challenge, and games with Dobbies’ ‘monster’. Parents can relax with a hot drink and cake while the little ones enjoy the festivities. The Little Scare-lings event runs on multiple dates in October and costs £10.99 per child and £7.50 per adult.
For those seeking even more Halloween fun, the Pumpkin Patch experience begins on Saturday 19 October. Children can choose their own pumpkin and enjoy activities and treats, with tickets priced at £9.99. Dobbies even includes your four-legged family members with the Pup-kin Patch, where dogs can select a Halloween toy and have their photo taken for £8 per pup.
