A Preston pub will host an August bank holiday event to raise awareness of mental health and suicide.
The Guild in Fylde Road is aiming to bring people together to be part of their community while fundraising for three causes – Macmillan Cancer Support, Mary O’Gara Foundation, and The Walnut Group Preston.
Licensee Karen is working with Dave and Jules from Wot Wud U Do, an educational service built on first-hand experiences of overcoming health, employment and educational barriers.
Speaking to Blog Preston about The Guild Get Together, Dave said: “Our aim is to promote unity, open conversations, break down barriers, and connect people with local community clubs.
“We have two days of activities that include skills competitions, jiu-jitsu demonstrations, treasure hunts, and mini games, with live music in the evening.
“There will be a tombola and a raffle with prizes including Total Fitness day passes, a haircut at Spires Barbers, and an MOT and service from Springfield Motors.
“Alongside these activities will be stalls from local community organisations, creative businesses and support services.”
