There are severe delays and a carriageway closure on the M6 this afternoon due to a collision.

Traffic is building with National Highways: North West reporting delays of up to 45 minutes within the closure around Lancaster. Traffic is backing up, stationary, towards Garstang.

Traffic is being diverted from the motorway via the exit and entry slip roads as a result. The incident was reported just after 2pm this afternoon (27 June).

A spokesperson for National Highways: North West said: “The M6 northbound is closed within J33 Lancaster due to a collision.

“Traffic is being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads. There are currently delays of 20 mins on approach to the incident.”
