A report of suspicious activity and a ‘bang’ noise have triggered concern in Chorley.
Lancashire Constabulary received a call on Friday (31 May) evening after 11pm reporting suspicious activity on Buchanan Street where a man had been seen and a ‘noise like a bang or a loud pop’ heard.
A second call on Saturday (1 June) morning reported a series of loud bangs on Hollinshead Street.

Enquiries are being carried out in Chorley by Lancashire Constabulary but there have been no reports of either injury or damage as a result.
Police are appealing for information regarding the incidents that may help them piece together what has happened.
Chief Insp Chris Abbott, of Chorley Police, said: “I appreciate that these incidents may have caused some concern in the local area, and we are working hard to try and establish what has happened. Fortunately, at this stage it does not appear anyone has been injured or any property damaged.
“We have a team of detectives and uniformed officers in the area who are making enquiries, as well as staff working behind the scenes, and I would urge anyone who has any information or concerns to go and speak to them. If you have any CCTV or Ring doorbell footage, then I would ask you to get in touch.”
