Preston set to see icy overnight temperatures as gritters sent out

Preston is set to see a sharp drop in temperatures for the next 48 hours.

Lancashire County Council is sending out the gritter fleet.

Priority routes are gritted which is around a third of the road network across the county. You can see all the routes due to be gritted.

Temperatures are due to drop to -1 degrees during Wednesday (17 April) evening and into the morning of Thursday (18 April).

Daytime temperatures remain at around 10 degrees but Friday night is also due to see temperatures drop away dramatically.
