A major route between Longridge and Preston had been closed due to a fire.

Preston Road in Grimsargh was shut due to a fire between Lindale Avenue, just beyond Grimsargh Village Hall, and Elston Lane.

Emergency services were called shortly before 3pm on Monday (26 February).

Preston Police have officers on the scene and Blog Preston has contacted Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service for more information.

Police re-opened the road around 3.40pm on Monday.

Three-way traffic lights at the junction of Whittingham Lane with Preston Road near Grimsargh Green had already been causing disruption throughout Monday.
