Katherine Fletcher, MP for South Ribble, visited Leyland Trucks this month and signed the last DAF LF lorry which is being donated to the British Commercial Vehicle Museum.
The truck came off the production line in November and it was also signed by staff at Leyland Trucks.
The final DAF LF was well-known as a workhorse on Britain’s Road, over 238,700 were built since 2001 but now it will be replaced by a new model called the XB.

Katherine visited the Croston Road assembly plant where she had a tour of the factory, met staff and discussed the company’s latest plans with managing director, Peter Ahren.
She also met the lead engineer for transmissions, Dave Walton, and drove the company’s largest vehicle, the XG+.
Katherine said: “Thank you to Leyland Trucks for allowing me to visit, sign the iconic and last-ever LF and take a ride around the factory.
“The company is a big local employer and its continued success is important to South Ribble. I will do all I can to support it.
“I discussed with Peter the company’s ambitions, the exciting new XB model and what Leyland Trucks wants to achieve in the future.
“The new model is a vote of confidence in the sector and the production plant and I am sure it will be just as successful as the LF.”
