Tesco has applied for planning permission after taking over Morrisons store in Ribbleton.
AdvertisementThe supermarket chain has applied for a range of different signs to be used in the carpark and on the building in Blackpool Road.
One application requests 17 illuminated and non-illuminated signs which includes the main Tesco sign on the front of the store.

There is also set to be graphics applied to the windows with vandal-proof protection.
An application for signs on the petrol station and car wash has also been submitted.
Branding on the petrol station as well as vinyls have been requested to be applied on the canopy over the petrol pumps.
The applications come after the Morrisons store – which was the second in the city alongside the Docks supermarket – was being taken on by Tesco.

A spokesperson for Morrisons said at the time: “We have agreed to sell our Blackpool Road store in Preston to Tesco. Morrisons customers are well served in Preston with our popular Riversway store which is nearby.
“All colleagues who wish to will TUPE across to Tesco and all drivers will be assigned to another nearby Morrisons store. We wish Tesco and our colleagues well with the store.”
The Tesco shop will be the chain’s first superstore in Preston – the current closest Tesco Extra supermarkets are at Leyland and Blackpool.
