Freddie Flintoff’s son has said the Preston-born presenter is ‘lucky to be alive’ after a crash during filming for BBC’s Top Gear
The incident happened at the Top Gear test track at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey yesterday (Tuesday 13 December).
Corey, 16, told MailOnline: “He’s okay. I’m not too sure what happened but he is lucky to be alive.
“It was a pretty nasty crash. It is shocking. We are all shocked but just hope he’s going to be okay.”
The BBC is reporting that the accident didn’t happen at high speed.
A spokesperson said crew medics attended the scene immediately, with Freddie taken to hospital for further treatment. They said more details would be confirmed ‘in due course’.
Former cricketer Freddie joined Top Gear as a host in 2019, and co-stars in the show with Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris.
