Lancashire Police are again appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after two people died in a crash on the M6 at Leyland.
The incident happened last Saturday (19 November) at around 5.49pm when a Porsche Boxster and a Vauxhall Meriva collided on the southbound carriageway between junctions 29 and 28.
Investigating officers suspect the Porsche Boxster was travelling in the wrong direction, having entered the motorway at junction 28 via the southbound slip road.
Sadly, three-year-old Faye Dawson who was travelling in the Vauxhall, and a 79-year-old man who was driving the Porsche both died.
On Thursday, Faye’s heartbroken family paid tribute to a ‘loving and caring’ little girl who ‘was loved by everyone who met her’.

Faye’s mum suffered serious injuries as did a man who was travelling in the Vauxhall. They remain in hospital.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward. If any drivers have dashcam footage from the motorway around the time of the crash, they should also get in touch by contacting 101, quoting log 1102 of November 19, 2022.

Sgt Craig Booth, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This collision has left both families grieving in a way most of us will never understand.
“On behalf of Lancashire Police and the investigation team I would like them to know our thoughts are with them all. They are being supported by specially trained officers as a result of this traumatic incident.
“I feel I also need to mention all the emergency services who attended who are also trying to come to terms with what happened.”
