The award-winning Chorley Flower Show welcomed 11,000 attendees to Astley Park last month to enjoy a packed three-day event.
The seventh outing of the annual Chorley show saw professional exhibitors and demonstrations, amateur competitions, show gardens, gardening traders, entertainment, and food and drink.
There was also a special unveiling of a Lancashire Life 75th Anniversary Garden, designed and planted by garden designer Greg Anderton.

Councillor Alistair Bradley, the leader of Chorley Council, said: “Wow, what a weekend. The Chorley Flower Show is one of my favourite events, and this year’s offering did not disappoint.
“So much hard work and effort by so many people go into this special event, and I am so pleased by the feedback we’ve had – everyone loved it!
“The show is the flagship event in Chorley’s calendar, and it’s a real showstopper, seeing tens of thousands of people coming along to see what Chorley has to offer.
“Not only does the event get bigger and better each year, but we also see more and more benefits across the borough, with a real boost to the local economy yearly.”

This year’s show saw the return of the music nights, and around 700 people attended shows celebrating Irish and soul music on Friday and Saturday.
Astley Hall provided the backdrop to the event, fresh from an extensive two-year restoration, preserving the Grade II listed building for future generations to enjoy and to enhance the visitor experience.

Councillor Bradley said: “Forget about Chelsea – Chorley is the place to be.
“We’re a firm favourite on the horticultural map now, and we’re already looking to next year and how we can make the show even better.
“We have a brilliant calendar of events, and next up is the incredible Chorley Live in October.”
