Hour by hour weather for Preston as thunderstorms expected

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning across most of the UK from 10am on Monday 15 August until 11.59pm on Tuesday 16 August.

Following the heatwave and prolonged dry spell, thunderstorms are expected across the UK, including Preston on Monday and Tuesday.

The public is also warned to be prepared for flash flooding due to the dry ground and the heavy rainfall expected.

Monday 15 August:

12 noon – Sunshine with a 30 per cent chance of rain with the temperature around 21 degrees.

1pm – Thunderstorms with a 60 per cent chance of rain.

2pm – Thunderstorms with a 70 per cent chance of rain.

3pm – Thunderstorms with a 60 per cent chance of rain.

4pm – The rain is expected to stop, with temperatures remaining at 20 degrees.

5pm – Conditions will remain the same.

6pm – Conditions will remain the same.

7pm – Conditions will remain the same.

8pm- Conditions will remain the same, however, the temperature will drop to 19 degrees.

9pm – Conditions will remain the same.

10pm – Conditions will remain the same however, the temperature will drop to 18 degrees.

11pm – Conditions will remain the same.

Tuesday 16 August

12am to 5am – Cloudy with temperatures remaining in the high teens with a low chance of rain.

6am – Cloudy with temperatures at 17 degrees.

7am – Conditions remain the same.

8am – Conditions remain the same with temperatures rising to 18 degrees.

9am – Conditions remain the same.

10am – Cloudy with temperatures rising again to 19 degrees.

11am – Conditions remain the same.

12pm – Temperatures will rise to 20 degrees.

1pm – There will be a 30 per cent chance of rain.

2pm – The rain will stop with temperatures remaining at 20 degrees.

3pm – There will be a 40 per cent chance of rain.

4pm – Sunshine with a 30 per cent chance of rain.

5pm – Conditions will remain the same, with temperatures dropping to 19 degrees.

6pm – The rain will stop, with the temperature remaining at 19 degrees.

7pm -11pm – Conditions remain the same.

The weather is expected to be cooler and breezy on Wednesday with patches of rain.
