A local sports club marked its 150th anniversary last weekend with a presidents’ day bowling competition.
On Saturday, 9 July, from 10.30am to 4pm, The Fulwood Club, a bowling and snooker centre on Victoria Road, celebrated its presidents’ day and commemorated its anniversary.
President Eileen Wood presented the trophy to Emma Bolton, who won the final of the presidents’ day bowling competition.

All attendees enjoyed a hotpot and a celebratory piece of cake, with Eileen unveiling a plaque.
The club was established in 1872 as a men-only billiards club, with the land purchased, and in August of that year, the largest bowling green in the UK hosted its first game.
Preston North End has previously utilised the club as its meeting place, and it survived wars, weather and the pandemic.
