Three local choirs have united for a community concert that saw members perform hits to raise £591 for people fleeing war and violence.
AdvertisementLast weekend, the ‘Singspiration Community Choir’, comprised of three choirs based in Broughton, Longridge and Garstang, joined forces to celebrate the end of their first year with a sold-out concert at Garstang Community Academy.
The 80-strong choir entertained over two hundred people with their live band, featuring hits like Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’ and ABBA’s ‘Dancing Queen.’

Singspiration Community Choir is keen for ‘enthusiastic’ people to join them.
On their website, Singspiration said: “Whether it’s on your own at home or supporting your local football team or even just in the shower, Singspiration Community Choir could be the new way you get out, make new friends, sing fun, upbeat and uplifting songs and generally feel great doing it.
“Our sessions run alongside school term time (36 weeks altogether), with engaging concerts and workshops in between.
“There are no scary auditions to join Singspiration, just a willingness to have a go and enjoy singing great contemporary music.”

The choir runs sessions at various venues across north Preston, with rehearsals starting at 7.30pm and finishing by 9pm.
