A community theatre group is up for the Community Organisation Award in the National Diversity Awards 2022.
The awards celebrate the work that grassroots communities do to tackle issues in today’s society and recognises the work they do.
Kidz4Kidz was started to offer a community theatre company for children in Preston to attend as youth clubs closed.

The group is run by volunteers and weekly subs pay for the running of it and any profit is given to local charities to support young people in the area.
Since Kidz4Kidz launched in 2001, there have been over 800 cast members in shows and over 30 volunteers have worked with the group making costumes, fundraising, producing shows and holding committee meetings.
They have performed over 60 shows, some have weekly rehearsals and some are rehearsed during a week-long intensive holiday club.
Kidz4Kidz is open to young people from all backgrounds and all abilities, with previous cast members living with brittle bone disease, wheelchair users and with ADHD and Aspergers.
The ceremony will take place in Liverpool where nominees will attend a glittering black-tie event.
The award is voted for by the public and voting is open until the end May.
