A local running club that raised funds during a Santa dash last Christmas has presented an £800 cheque to Rosemere.
Michael Brennand of the Central Lancs Running and Triathlon Club (CLAN), who managed entries to the Avenham Park Rosemere Cheeky Santa Dash, presented the cheque to Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s chief officer Dan Hill and community fundraiser Yvonne Stott.
The money arrived from online entry fees to the 5km event, combined with a small number of sign-ups and donations made on the day.

Some 70 plus brave souls, most in festive costumes, battled strong winds, lashing rain and near-freezing temperatures to take part in the eighth annual dash.
Louise Harlow and late husband Ben Ashworth founded the event to support Rosemere and raise awareness of bowel cancer, which took Ben’s life in the summer of 2017 when he was 38-years-old.
By then, Ben had run 24 post-diagnosis marathons and three dashes to raise more than £40,000 for various cancer charities, which is why Michael chose Ben’s Guild Wheel memorial stone, opposite the Continental pub, for the
presentation.
