Once Was Lost is a new cafe, bar, lifestyle shop, and wine and beer store located in what was Market Street Social.
The venue off Friargate also features retail space for artists and artisan makers, and an event space and live performance venue.
The independent movement will allow both artists and retailers to showcase their work to the local community in a social space, from the likes of live music every weekend to a Sunday makers market.
The co-founders of PLAU Gin and Beer House were behind the temporary outdoors pop up bar Market Street Social, back when Covid regulations imposed restrictions on indoor spaces. Meanwhile the Once Was Lost store launched just before Christmas. Now that building work has been completed the whole area has transformed into a cultural hub for people to get together in.

A large heated conservatory dining room has been added along with a new bar and cafe area, with a brunch menu being served daily from 10am.
Millie van Heeswijk, manager of Once Was Lost Bar, said “It is a pleasure to run such an open and creative space, we have a welcoming vibe for those who join us over the other side of the walled courtyard.
“I think the events and the arts programme at the venue is well needed for the city and we welcome any new artists and local talent to come and meet with us to see how we can work together for a better Preston.
“Its a perfect setting for meetings or to work away from your desk and me and my team are looking forward to welcoming you.”
